Linda (Hamilton) Swartwood

Linda Hamilton Swartwood passed into heaven on Monday August 31st. Linda was predeceased by her husband, Roger, infant daughter, Joy Lynn, and step daughter Darcy Swartwood. Linda leaves her daughter, Kathy (Mike), step son Darrell, daughter of her heart Cherita Miles and grandchildren Joshua, Nathaniel and Gianna. Linda spent the last several years fighting health conditions that ultimately claimed her life. It should be noted that she also spent that time loving her family.
Linda never missed an opportunity to tell you she loved you or how proud of you she was. She showed her love by checking on you, making you food, telling you about a show she enjoyed or just listening as you complained and struggled through life. Always with the closing of "this too shall pass". She had a million sayings, a million laughs and a million smiles. She never met an animal she didn't love nor a child she didn't think needed a hug.
Her daughter Kathy Staples had the benefit of a loving Mom, she kept a great friendship with her ex husband John until his death and showed how coparenting should look before it was a word. You never questioned if she cared, she said so. A lesson I just learned in the last few years. No matter what life threw at me I knew it would be ok, if it wasn't ok it wasn't the end. A place that if I had a bad day or just wanted to complain she listened, I'm afraid I may not have done as well as her but I know I was loved no matter how I messed up. Love you forever Mom, couldn't have had a better Mom, flaws and all, you always stood by me even in my worst days and in my best moments. I love you Momma and will spend the rest of my days trying to be the most loving Mom I was shown how to be.
