Louise Kachadourian Kontos, 94, passed away August 18, 2023. She is survived by her devoted children; Garo (Sandra) Kachadourian and DLouisa (Justin) Ford; her beloved grandchildren, Rachel Hendricks (Cody Wood), Kassandra Kachadourian, Demos Ford, Arabella Ford, Samuel Ford and Jovie Ford; great-grandchildren, Nova Hendricks and Nixon Wood; one brother Arslan Kachadourian; along with her nephew Mark (Nora) Kachadourian his children; Melonie, Jackie, Henry and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Parsek and Alice; her husband Demos and brothers Dr. Aristakas and Henry (Victoria). Louise was a graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Brooklyn. She worked as a private duty nurse for many of Binghamton's most prominent families. She was extremely proud of her Armenian Heritage. She was a lifelong member of St. Gregory the Illuminator Church in Binghamton and its choir and founding member of the Armenian Womens Guild. She enjoyed Armenian dancing and was the founder of the local Armenian Dance group. Louise loved music and sang with the Tri-Cities Opera in the late 1950's into the 1960's. A high-point of her singing career was performing with Placido Domingo. Louise's greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Saturday August 26 at St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church, 12 Corbett Avenue, Binghamton. Burial will follow in Floral Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday from 9:00-9:50 am. Funeral services provided by the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, Binghamton.
