Johnson City: Lurline H. Crampton, 83, passed away June 4, 2024. She is survived by her children Cathy (Mark) Smith, Robin C. Scott, Lisa (Rich) VanDyne and Todd (Kim) Crampton; brother Douglas W. (Kim) Howell, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved deeply; nephews, cousins, many, many special friends too numerous to list. and her cat "Pretty Boy". She was preceded in death by her beloved parents Warren and Marion Howell; ex-husband and father of her children Wayne Crampton and many beloved cats. Lurline graduated from Johnson City High School in class of January 1958. As a single mother she worked hard to support her family. Among many jobs, she formerly worked at Country Bob's as a bartender, disc jockey and assistant manager; learned to drive tractor trailer at the age of 45, and for the past 25 years she worked as a cashier at the Binghamton Price Chopper, where she loved interacting with customers. She was a lifelong member of Sarah Jane Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church in Johnson City; currently attended the Little Meadows United Methodist Church. She was a former member of Starlight Triangle #115 in Johnson City and the Johnson City Chapter #680 Order of the Eastern Star. Lurline loved everything strawberry - both eating, and collecting decorator items.Most of all she was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother dedicated to raising generations of her family. She loved abundantly and in the way each member of her family needed her to love them.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Monday at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton. Burial will be in Shehawken Cemetery, Starrucca, PA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00-5:00 pm Sunday. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the BC Humane Society 167 Conklin Ave. Binghamton, NY 13903
