Margaret Virginia Thompson, 81, slipped into rest and eternal peace on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Mercy House, Endicott, N.Y.
Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Bismark and Ellen (Cheeks) Lewis of Owego, N.Y. Margaret was also predeceased by 7 brothers, Clarence, Herbert, George, Robert, Joseph, John and Charles Lewis and a sister Mary Ellen (Lewis) Roman.
Margaret was also predeceased by her beloved daughter, Susan Arlene Taylor Cole.
Margaret is survived by her life partner, Donald Reid of Albany; 3 Grandchildren, Latief, Naila and Akil Cole; 14 great-grandchildren and many, nieces, nephews and life-long friends in Owego, Binghamton, and Albany.
Margaret was born, and early childhood years were spent in Owego and Binghamton. After relocating to Albany, she worked and eventually retired from the New York State Capital in Albany.
Margaret was a cook. Her happiest times were spent in the kitchen cooking and sharing her many recipes with her nieces.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 12pm in the Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church, 203 Oak Street Binghamton, with Minister Tyrone Heath, officiating.
