January 10, 1940 ~ June 19, 2024 (age 84) 84 Years Old

Marion Calisi Obituary

Marion Calisi, 84, died peacefully June 18, 2024, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She is survived by her husband Anthony Calisi; son Michael Calisi; daughter Gina Calisi; granddaughters Shelby Kress and Nikki Kress and a special cousin, more like a sister – Kay Zumbach. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Ruth Jones and her sister Dorothy Denney. Marion was a retiree of the Binghamton Psychiatric Center. Marion lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed travel  and valued memories of her trips to Scotland, Ireland, Iceland, the Bahamas and her final trip to Jamaica in January with her wonderful girlfriends. She loved anything John Wayne. Other hobbies including gardening and crafting, especially knitting, crocheting and cross stitch. She enjoyed having a good time with friends and never refused a glass of wine, especially a good Pino! Not known to many, she had an extensive collection of Santa figurines which decorated every inch of her house for the holidays. She was a dedicated member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 65 years. She was a member of Otseningo and Chenango Chapters, serving as Matron several times. She was also a past District Deputy Grand Matron in the Broome-Chenango District and a past Associate Grand Marshall of the NY Grand Chapter. She was also a long time member and Past Queen of Zuleika Temple #9 Daughters of the Nile and a lifelong member of the Broad  Avenue-North Presbyterian Church. Most important of all Marion was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

  A memorial service will be held 10:00 am Thursday June 27 at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton. Entombment will follow at Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 4:00-6:00 pm. An Eastern Star service will be held at 5:30 pm and the Daughters of the Nile service at 5:45 pm.
