Our precious Marjorie (Marge) M. Gorman, aged 94, went home to the Lord on September 21, 2024.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents Wilbur and Edith Myers, her beloved husband of nearly 70 years, John H. Gorman, infant son John E. Gorman, and siblings Melvin, DeWitt, Lena Mae, and Ruth, as well as her special aunt Christina, cousin Albert and dear friend Doreen.
Marjorie is survived by her loving family; sons David (JoAnn) Gorman, John (Patricia) Gorman and daughter Louise (James) Schabloski; grandchildren Amy (Christopher), Christopher (Nicole), Megan (Kyle), and Ryan (Brittany); along with great-grandchildren Eli, Jake, Troy, McKenna, Shay, Lucas, and Brooke. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Martha Gorman and numerous cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She attended Chenango Forks High School, where she met and married the love of her life. Marge held various jobs throughout her life as well as volunteering for Meals on Wheels but the most important was her role as Mimi, a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be most remembered for her deep love for her family, which was her greatest joy and priority.
Marge was a devout member of Saint Paul’s Catholic Church. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength and comfort. She was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees, a passion she shared with her father. The highlight of Marge’s week was visiting Unique Hair Boutique on Thursday’s where she cherished the friendship and care provided by Tonya and to all that made her feel so special. We would like to thank Guthrie Lourdes Hospice for their generous love, support and care during this time.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 am Friday October 11 at St. Paul's Church, Chenango St. Binghamton. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:00 - 9:50 am. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marge's memory can be made to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier or to Saint Jude, honoring her legacy of generosity and care for others.
