It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marsha Grass, who left us suddenly on April 7, 2025. Marsha was a beacon of warmth, determination and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she met. Born in Buffalo, NY, to Irving and Belle Rosengarden, Marsha graduated from the University at Buffalo, where she built the foundation for a lifelong dedication to education and leadership. Shortly after, she married her loving husband Alan, and together they moved to his hometown of Binghamton, NY. There, she devoted herself to shaping young minds as a school teacher, eventually rising to become President of the Binghamton School Board. Marsha’s ability to build strong relationships and her vibrant, outgoing personality led her to excel in several marketing positions, including her time at WSKG, the local PBS station. Her entrepreneurial spirit shined when she founded and successfully operated her own coupon business, a testament to her innovation and ambition. Upon retirement, Marsha and Alan relocated to Florida, where she channeled her passion into real estate, becoming a respected and accomplished agent. Marsha will be remembered for her warmth, intelligence, and unwavering dedication to those she loved. With a love of family above all else, Marsha is survived by her two children, Dr. Jeffrey Grass (Dr. Kathi Makoroff) and Julie Grass Jurman (Rory Jurman). She was a devoted and loving grandmother to her four grandsons: Alex and Daniel Grass, and Asher and Duncan Jurman. Marsha is also survived by her brother and closest friend Melvyn Rosengarden (Sheila). She will be missed by the many friends whose lives she enriched.
A graveside funeral service will be held 12:00 noon Friday at Temple Israel Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Temple Israel in her memory., 4737 Deerfield Place, Vestal, NY 13850.
