Michael "Doc" L. Baran

Michael “Doc” L. Baran, 73, went to be with the Lord May 4, 2023. He is survived by his children Michael J (Elizabeth) Baran, Nathaniel Baran, Jode (Robert) Sissenstein-Pettit, and Matthew J. Baran; grandchildren Alexander, Quinlan, Hannah, Olivia, Nikolai, Rhyker and Mahlyia; sisters Michele Dininny, Denise Church, and twin sister Michalyn Chang. He was predeceased by his parents Michael and Florence Baran, sister Janet, and his wife Deborah “Dee” Baran. Michael was a devout Christian who had an online Facebook ministry. He was also an avid collector and dealer in antiques, operating Baran’s Antique Center on Clinton St. He became a professional poker player and won a World Poker Tournament at Turning Stone Casino.

A memorial service will be held  1:00 pm Saturday May 20 at the Crosspoint Community Church, 1 Grand Boulevard Binghamton. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of service. Contributions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
