Nancy L. (O'Brien) Bruce

She is survived by her children Michael (Margaret) Bruce, Patrick (Michele) Bruce, DeVinn (Fortunato Alegria) Bruce,  Kimberly (Steve) Ehrets and Todd (Christine) Bruce, 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years John Bruce in 2020, a special cousin Vaughnn Stone and her siblings; Elizabeth Grippen, Katherine Schmidt, Dorothy Northrup and Jack O'Brien.
  Nancy retired from the Johnson City School District after 45 years of service. Always active in the community, Nancy was deeply devoted to the Johnson City School athletic programs. Nancy and John were charter members of the JC Wildcats Athletic Booster Club, regularly volunteering in any capacity needed. She was honored by the National Wrestling Hall of Fame for her many years of service as scorekeeper at wrestling matches. She was a long time member of St. James Church and its Parish Council and St. Cyril's Church Couples Club. She and John enjoyed their daily walks around Johnson City.
 
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton (Due to road construction, please approach from  Bevier St).  A PRIVATE Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 am Thursday at St. James Church, Johnson City. Friends are invited to watch a livestream of the Mass online. In lieu of flowers consider a donation to either the MS Society, the Epilepsy Foundation or Gigi's Playhouse of the Southern Tier. The family extends their appreciation to the staff at the NYS Veterans Home in Oxford for the care they provided to Nancy.
