Patricia M. Masaryk, 63, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, following a lengthy illness. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard Masaryk, Jr.; her parents, Robert & Ramona Sbarra; father in law Richard Masaryk, Sr.; special Aunt Leona Casterlin (Ramona’s twin); oldest brother and sister in law Nick (Pat) Sbarra; and precious sister Janet Webb, who was like a second mother to her.
Patty is survived by her 3 loving children: Jenny (Chris) Depue, Meggie Crouch, and Ricky Masaryk; 3 precious grandchildren: Jacob, Tristan, and Ashlyn Depue; loving brothers and sister: Don (Marie) Sbarra, Theresa (Dennis) Sherwood, and Scott Sbarra; mother in law, Shirley Masaryk; sisters in law, Stephanie (Geoff) Morris & Tina (Matt) Hinkey; brothers in law Mike Webb & Tom Masaryk; many precious nieces and nephews; and best friend, Colleen Miller.
A lifelong resident of Port Crane, Patty was the youngest of 6 children. She loved animals, especially kittens, and dreamed of living on a farm. As an adult, she raised chickens and ducks and cared for several horses at home. She loved shopping and going to the beach. Her greatest pride was her children, whom she homeschooled for many years. As a child she came to know Jesus Christ as her Savior. Her faith remained strong despite many trials during her life here on Earth.
Special thanks to her daughter, Meggie, who was her dedicated caregiver; her devoted brother and sister, Scott and Theresa, who spent many hours visiting at her bedside during the last year; her sister in law Stephanie who spent many hours with her during her stay at Strong Memorial Hospital last year; and her sister in law Marie, who spent hours handling finances and paperwork. Thanks also to the team at Guthrie Lourdes Hospice who provided compassionate care and treated her with great kindness, making her last months as comfortable as possible.
A graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday at Port Crane Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her memory to Central Baptist Church 1606 NYS Rte 12, Binghamton, NY 13901.
