Patricia Arlene (Bender) Setzer

Patricia A. Setzer, 71 of Binghamton passed away August 21, 2021. She is survived by her 3 daughters; Corianne Setzer of Washington D.C., Erin Jessica Setzer of Conklin and Allison Setzer of Binghamton, grandchildren: Jacob Hunter Page, Isabella Maria Stento, Aidan Molly Arnold, and her brothers; John (Martha) Bender III, Richard Bender, Mark (Sheila) Romain. She is also survived by her ex-husband Timothy Setzer, her friend Jane Frate and cousins; Virginia Robinson and Robin Carter, along with a large extended family whom she loved and cherished. Patricia is predeceased by her parents John (Betty) Bender Jr. and her brother James Bender.  Patricia was an angel on Earth. She lived to help people, dedicating 45 years of service in the medical field; working at the Binghamton Psychiatric Center for 38 years, and seven years at Lourdes in the Hospice Unit. She also chose to help anyone who crossed her path. Since her passing, there are countless stories from friends and relatives who have all said she reached out to help them in their time of need. Helping people is what Patricia lived for. She was generous with her time, money and love.  Throughout her life she easily gained many friends along the way, and many people considered her to be a best friend and sister to them. She was a kind and happy person and was always positive and upbeat; never losing her 'hippie' spirit. A memorial service celebrating Patricia's life will be held 2:00 pm Saturday January 8, 2022 at the Crossroads of Life Church, 20 Exchange St. Binghamton. The church will open at 1:30, but due to Covid-19 safety concerns the family is not receiving friends and masks are required for entry.
