Patrick "Joe" Hastings Obituary

Patrick “Joe” Hastings, 71 Died October 30th, 2023. After a valiant battle with cancer, Joe flew away Monday morning to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He passed away peacefully at home, with his longtime friend and companion by his side, Bonnie L. Zoon and their dog “Q” by his side. Joe was predeceased by his beloved brother, Gregory A Hastings, in 2018; Father Gerald P Hastings and Mother Ruby Jean Hastings. He is survived by his children, Eric J. Hastings, Joel A. Hastings and Morgan K. Hastings; grandchildren, Gerald P. Hastings, Callahan W. Hastings, Hannah M. Hastings, and Piper O. Hastings; Siblings, Paula M. Hastings, David K. Hastings (Sherrie), Anne M. (Daniel) Cassela, Theresa M. Hastings and Jeffery S. Hastings (Alana), along with many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins including Gail Card.

Joe was a graduate of Windsor Central High School class of 1971. Joe loved to play cards, darts, and croquet at his brother Greg’s house, together they loved to compete in friendly competition, there wasn’t game or skill that they would not try to one up on one another.  After retirement you could usually find Joe on a local golf course. This was his favorite pastime until he could no longer swing a club.

Joe’s Ashes will be interred in the family plot in the spring of 2024. The Hastings family is planning to host a memorial service/celebration of life at a date to be announced.

In lieu of flowers donations  can be made in his name to the BC Humane Society, 167 Conklin Ave. Binghamton

Service Updates will be published here online as well as being published in the Press and Sun Bulletin sometime after the New Year.

“HE WILL WIPE AWAY EVERY TEAR FROM THEIR EYES, AND DEATH WILL BE NO MORE. NEITHER SHALL MOURNING, NOR CRYING, NOR PAIN ANYMORE, FOR THE FORMER THINGS HAVE PASSED AWAY.” Rev 21:4
