Paul Muller Obituary

Paul D. Muller, 69, of Castle Creek, died on July 6, 2026 in Wilkes-Barre, PA. He is survived by his beloved family; his wife Cheryl "Cherie"; daughters Tammy, Kathy and Mary; and beloved grandchildren, Valentina, Emma and Hannah.

Paul made his career as a driver. For a time, he had been a Medi-van driver for Donson, but for the majority of his career, he was a school bus driver, driving for Laidlaw/First Student with the Binghamton City School District, then he went on to drive for the Chenango Forks and most recently Chenango Valley School Districts.

He enjoyed working on cars, going for a cruise, collecting anything that caught his interest, and listening to golden oldies music. He also enjoyed watching old TV shows and musicals from his childhood with his family, especially TV Westerns and the Twilight Zone, South Pacific, Camelot and Kismet.

He was a dedicated volunteer in the community.

For 45 years, Paul was a constant and dedicated presence as a first responder in the Town of Chenango. His journey is a testament to his commitment: he began his service with the Chenango Volunteer Emergency Squad and the Nimmonsburg Fire Company. Through every transition—from the merger with Hinman's Corners Fire Department to form the Chenango Fire Company in 1985, and continuing with the ambulance squad after it was split from the fire company in 2005—Paul was always there.

Paul was a dedicated driver who could always be counted on to get the crew where they needed to go. He was also a fixture at the station, always the first to offer a hand whenever he saw anyone working on vehicle maintenance. Even as his health slowed him down over the past few years, Paul never lost his connection to the department.

Paul was also a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Binghamton.

A memorial service will be held at a time and date yet to be announced. Paul's family is requesting assistance with his final expenses. They are in hope that a community he so generously gave to in life will help support them at the time of his death with a donation to help cover the cost of his final funeral expenses. You may do so by tapping on the red "Donate Now" button located near the bottom of this page. Each and every donation will be gratefully accepted and received by the family with deep humility and appreciation.

If unable to make a financial gift, the family encourages you to consider making a potentially life saving donation of just one pint of blood in Paul's memory.

His memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday August 1, 2026 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, 72 Main St. Binghamton. The family will greet friends at the church from 1:00 pm - 1:50 pm.

A memorial luncheon will be held at the Chenango Fire Hall following the services.
