Phillip J. Kocak, 74, of Binghamton, passed away unexpectedly Dec.11, 2025 at his home. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Marcia Kocak; his sister Mary Ann Kocak; nephews Nathan (Amber), Michael (Jessica) Brentten (Stephania) and Gabrielle; included in his family is his aunt Katherine Jabornik and Autumn and Joe Hooks; great-nieces, Charlotte, Kendall, Kenley, Rye, Octavia, Nadia and Giovanna; many neighborhood friends and family and his cats Junior and Pippin. He was predeceased by his brothers, Michael and Stephen.
Phil graduated from North High School. For many years he worked as the manager of the Oakdale Mall CVS and retired as a cleaner from Binghamton University. He grew up in the 1st Ward of Binghamton and Holy Spirit Byzantine Catholic Church. Phil adored children, especially his nephews and great-nieces, and enjoyed spending time at home in his chair.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton Friends may all from 9:30-10:50 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Holy Spirit Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, make a gift in his memory to the BC Humane Society or the charity of your choice.
