Richard H. Bennett

Richard H. Bennett, 93, of Binghamton, passed away July 30, 2022. He is survived by his beloved family; his wife and best friend of 73 years, Helen; his children Linda (Thomas) Macbeth of Vestal and Richard (Cindy) Bennett of Binghamton; his grandchildren Robert Hyde, Carrie Little and Jerri Filan; 8 great-grandchildren Joshua, Jaime, Kali, Taylor, Paige, Emily, Caleb and Abigail; 4 great-great-grandchildren Tanner, Levi, Jackson and Wyatt, numerous nieces and nephews. Richard was born on the family farm in Herrick Center, PA. He worked on the family farm and later became an automobile mechanic, working for Miller Dodge for over 40 years. He was a lifelong member of the E. Ararat Methodist Church. He was truly the best husband, father, grandfather and friend anyone could hope for and enjoyed using his mechanical skills to help family and friends in need of assistance.
Funeral services will be held 5:00 pm Wednesday at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton (Due to road construction approach Chenango St from Bevier St). The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 4:00 -4:50 pm. A private burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his memory to Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 N. McKinley Ave. Endicott 13760.
