His interests were diverse and ranged from stream fishing with his dad, fly-tying and metal detecting to Revolutionary War and Civil War history and cooking. He possessed a great sense of humor and physical and mental strength, which helped him endure his health struggles. Most importantly he loved all of his family deeply and cherished the individual relationships he had with each of them.
A private graveside funeral service for family and close friends will be held 12:30 Wednesday at the Port Crane Cemetery. The family has requested in lieu of flowers contributions be made to Samaritan's Purse (www.samaritanspurse.org).
