It is with profound sadness that I announce the passing of Bob 81, my loving dad and friend to all whose lives he touched. He passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 23, 2024 at his home in Binghamton, NY.
Bob was born on November 21st 1942 in Johnson City, NY. He was the son of the late Robert and Marion (Stasiak) Cease and the little brother to his late sister Barbara Feldman, He was married to his late wife Judy (warner) for nearly 52 years. He was much loved by his only child, Christine Willams.
As a young man he joined the US Navy and was honorably discharged in 1969. During his service, he was part of was part of the crew on the USS Lake Champlain, recovering the Gemini V on it’s return from space in 1965. He also served on the USS Intrepid and was awarded the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, The National Defense Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Star.
Bob spent the majority of his career as a Railroad Engineer. He was an avid tennis player, often letting his daughter and his friends win. He was an accomplished pool player and an active member and organizer of his much beloved Southern Tier NY American Pool Association
Bob leaves behind a daughter, Christine Williams (Laurence Savage) of Norwalk, C.T. whom he loved very much. He also leaves behind numerous nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces and great, great nephews and nieces, as well as some overfed squirrels and wildlife. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held on Saturday January 27, 2024 from 4:00pm – 5:00pm. A funeral service will follow at 5:00pm. At the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home 483 Chenango St. Binghamton, NY 13901. Following cremation, he will be buried with his wife at Ararat Cemetery, Ararat Township, PA.
