Port Dickinson: Sharon Ann Bigart, 76, died peacefully at her home, June 10, 2024. She is survived by her beloved family; her daughter Kim Marie Fish; grandchildren Dylan Thomas Fish and Taylor Ann Fish; brothers Michael Kane and Daniel Kane; nieces and nephews Michele Madrid, Jenny (Kane) Kapler, D.J. Kane, James Kane, Steve Launkitis, Chuck Launkitis, Joe Launkitis and Bill Launkitis. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Robert and her parents James and Rita Kane. She was a retiree of the Binghamton Psychiatric Center. Sharon lived an active and energetic life. An avid long distance runner she ran in races from 5k to full marathons, including a marathon race in Davos, Switzerland in 1990. She simply loved nature and being outside. Hiking, backpacking and snowshoeing with friends all brought her joy, as did bicycling, especially with the Southern Tier Bicycle Club. Sharon also enjoyed travel, especially taking cruises with her husband.
A memorial service will be held 6:00 pm Tuesday June 25 at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm - 5:50 pm at the funeral home.
