Tina (DeOrazio) Bakr

Tina DeOrazio Bakr passed away Saturday, August 30 after a 3-year battle with cancer. She was born in Binghamton, NY on April 4, 1971.

She was greeted in Heaven by her infant daughter Nicole, loving father Richard DeOrazio and grandparents.

Tina leaves behind her mother Patricia DeOrazio, sister Diana (David) Hayden, son Andrew Tarbox, daughter Victoria (Thunder) Libke, grandchildren Mila and Zoey Tarbox, Hayden, Aurora, Leo and Colton Libke, partner Andrew Aziz, nephews Jacob and Joshua and her service and companion dog Hachi. She is also survived by special brother-in-law Craig Hayden, special friends Rob, Debbie, Louanne, Chad and Tom, and many cousins, aunts and uncles.

Tina followed her father’s career path in service to her community by helping senior citizens and those in need of affordable housing. Locally she worked at SEPP and Country Town Apartments and continued that career path after moving to Florida.

Tina enjoyed shopping at Italian Markets, especially Doris’ in Florida, and Lombardi and Soprano’s here in NY. She enjoyed preparing large Italian meals for not only her family, but often for her staff and tenants as well. She always loved the opportunity for a celebration.

The family would like to thank her large care team at Baptist Health for her care over the years and especially Miami Jewish Health and Hospice for her care at the time of her transition.

In line with her care for community the family has donated her medical supplies to the American Cancer Society in Miami in order to assist others in need of necessary equipment.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tina’s memory to The American Cancer Society, or through the donation tab above established to assist the family with funeral expenses and cost of honoring Tina’s wish to be brought home to New York.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Sunday at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Bingamton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1:00 pm - 2:45 pm. Burial will be 10:00 am Monday at Vestal Hills Memorial Park.
