On September 15, 2021, our son, William (Will) Montgomery Griffin, embarked upon a journey guided by the loving hearts of his ancestors. Born a gift to Louise and Donald Griffin of Binghamton, NY on December 17, 1989, he was a gentle soul loved deeply by many. He was a graduate of Binghamton High School and Binghamton University receiving his degrees in History and Archaeology. Will was an insatiable reader with a brilliant mind, eager to share his knowledge with others. He was a substitute teacher for the Binghamton Schools and his beloved Saints of the Catholic Schools of Broome County. Will was regarded as a legend in the local trivia arena, marveling others with his incredible knowledge. A military historian to the core, Will served in many civil war re-enactments as an artilleryman firing a 12- pound howitzer.
In addition to his parents, Will is survived by his aunt Bonnie, uncles Winn and Dan, several cousins, his mentor John Clark, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton. Burial will follow in Chenango Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00-5:00 pm Sunday. Will's family encourages you to please become an organ donor. You can save a precious life. In lieu of flowers you can donate to the Catholic Schools of Broome County. Sign his guestbook at www.HEFUNERALHOME.com
