William Holmes Obituary

William M. Holmes, 64, a lifelong resident of Binghamton died unexpectedly at his home on February 2, 2021. He was born in Johnson City son of William C. and Helen (Thorson) Holmes. Over the years he worked for many local employers, including Endicott-Johnson, Giant Food Markets and Boscov's Department Store. A devoted son he lovingly took care of his mother until her her death in 2017. An avid fisherman, he enjoyed family fishing trips to Seneca Lake and along the Susquehanna, especially in Owego. He loved music, especially classic rock and playing his guitar. He was also a loyal New York Yankees fan.

He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, John and Karen Holmes, his sister Rosemary Lindsey, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He will be buried alongside his parents in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society in William's memory.
