WIlliam Mizera, Sr., 88, passed away February 5, 2021 after a brief battle with Covid-19. He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Skoli Mizera, his brothers Ed and Louis Mizera and his uncle Paul Mizera. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Helen Mizera and his devoted children; William (Debbi), Bruce (Brenda) and Kevin (Kathy), his adoring grandchildren; Alison (Eric), Ryan, Brady (Ashleigh), Bret (Emily), Nicholas and Maxwell, great-grandchildren; Logan and Madelyn, many nieces, nephews, loving friends and his grand-dogs, who knew there would be treats in his pocket when he walked in the door.
Bill was a long-time faithful member of the John Hus Presbyterian Church and a proud Army veteran of the Korean War. He was an avid hockey fan - a season ticket holder for all Binghamton AHL teams for over 45 years, but was just as happy to watch his grandsons play for Johnson City hockey. He bowled in several leagues and achieved a 300 game at the age of 75. He was also a talented woodcarver, making many treasured gifts for his family and friends over the years. He participated in the first Honor Flight from Broome County to Washington, D.C. and worked for 30 years at Ozalid and later Anitec/International Paper, retiring after 10 years of employment. Bill's huge smile and even bigger hugs will be sadly missed. When we can safely do so again, please honor his memory by hugging your family and friends. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend. He loved his family endlessly and we will hold our memories of him close to our hearts.
Due to current circumstances there will be no services at this time. Memorial Donations may be made to the John Hus Presbyterian Church, 47 Glenwood Ave. Binghamton, NY 13905
