William Paradis Obituary

William D. Paradis, 77, of Endwell, passed away peacefully at his home November 22, 2024. He is survived by his beloved family; Cindy Rich, who brought joy and love to his life the past 20 years;  his children Peggy Sue (Daniel) Schneidewend and Mark Paradis; Cindy's children Jamie (David) Synan, David (Kelly) Hall; grandchildren Amy Jem Paradis, Kellen  and Hannah Schneidewend, Morgan, Matthew and Emelyn Hall, Summer and Jackson Synan; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Ronald and Alma and siblings Ronald, Donald, Florence Macomber, Jane Lewis, Ernest, Charles and Philip.

Born in Johnson City, Bill grew up on the north side of Endicott. He served in the United States Army from 1964-67. He graduated from Broome Community College, class of 1975 and was proud to be named a Distinguished Alumni in the 2nd group of recipients. He earned his Bachelor's degree from SUNY Binghamton in 1977. He went on to found Budget Fence of America in 1983. 

Always active in the community he was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #70 in Kirkwood and the Sarah Jane Johnson United Methodist Church in Johnson City, as well as a 53 year member of American Legion Post 1645 in Binghamton and a life member of the Vietnam Veterans of America. 

He enjoyed karaoke and was a karaoke DJ known as "Diamond Bill". He especially loved singing for veterans and at nursing homes throughout the area, spreading the joy of music.

He traveled all 50 states and beyond, making special memories with his family.

He enjoyed sports and actively supported area teams. He took special pride in his time working as a staff member for the T.C. Jets, especially the 1997 Champion Football team.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Sarah Jane Johnson United Methodist Church, 308 Main Street, Johnson City, concluding with the conferral of military honors by the United States Army and Broome County Veterans Memorial Association.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm Tuesday at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Sarah Jane Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church, 308 Main St. Johnson City.
