William (Bill) Peak, 97, entered the Kingdom of God on September 26 from home. Bill was a Cryptographer for the Army in WWII attaining the grade of Master Sergeant. He worked for Al Tech Specialty Steel retiring as Superintendent of the Cold Draw Dept. He was a graduate of Hudson Valley Community College. After retirement he did consulting work, worked several jobs, mentored RPI international students all of which became his close friends, and traveled with his wife, Laura. One of his proudest achievements was the founding of the Patriot Flight Inc. to help veterans visit the WWII monument in Washington, DC.
Bill is survived by his four children, Lynda (Johnny) Minozzi of Clover SC, Bette (Jerry) Daloia of Webster NY, Stanley (Skip) Peak (Cheryl) of Pittsburgh, PA and the Rev. Robert (Brenda) Peak of Binghamton NY. He is also survived by his grandchildren Vincent (Courtney) Daloia, Dominick (Robin) Daloia, Michael (Kristina) Daloia; Christina (Dan) Heilman, Kevin (Paige) Peak; Andrew (Brianna) Peak, Allison (Michael) Peak-Moon, Benjamin (Tenley) Peak; Eric Natel; 12 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife of nearly 75 years, Laura; grandson Matthew Peak; former daughter-in-law Janice Peak. A heartfelt thank you to Rev. Nick TeBordo, Pat Springer, Glen Peyser, Rocco DiCarlo, Bob Wolfgang, Carol Fagan; your friendship, love and care were a gift to Bill.
Many thanks to Veshma Sanichar, owner of No Place Like Home-Care, for the excellent care she and her staff gave to Bill (and Laura in April 2020) during his ending journey. They made his last days beautiful.
A memorial service will be held at United Church of Cohoes on Tuesday, October 12 at 11:00am led by the Rev. Nick TeBordo with the burial immediately following at the G.B.H.S. Saratoga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Patriot Flight Inc, PO Box 13776, Albany, NY 12212. Arrangements are by Hopler-Eschbach Funeral Home, Binghamton, NY.
