Berta M. Chupp, 88, of Binghamton died June 5, 2017. She was born in Ithaca, NY to Golden Orlando and Malissa (Crowe) Hall. She graduated from Cornell University with a BA in Home Economics in 1950. Berta was a member of many organizations including Alpha Delta at Cornell, Tuscarora Chapter D.A.R., Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, Amaranth, Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 1st Ward Senior Citizens Center chorus and a past President of the Horace Mann P.T.A. and formerly a Girl Scout leader.  She worked part time at the Binghamton Library until 1966. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years Frank Chupp in 2011, her daughter Nancy Vann in 2013 and two brothers Joseph and James Hall. She is survived by her children, Linda (Ray) Wojtaszczyk of Hamburg, NY, Richard Chupp of Binghamton, son-in-law, Al Vann of Binghamton, 3 grandchildren David (Heather) Vann, Carrie and Gregory Wojtaszcyk, 2 great-grandsons Damon and Brandon Vann, sister Nancy Rosbenberg and several cousins. The family extends their appreciation to all the staff at Willow Point for the loving care they provided to Berta.
 
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Friday at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton. Rev. Beth Benham, pastor of Tabernacle United Methodist Church will officiate.Burial will follow in Vestal Hills Memorial  Park. The family will receive friends at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home Thursday from 6-8 pm. Tuscarora Chapter N.S.D.A.R. will conduct a service at 6:30 pm. Queen May Court Order of the Amaranth will conduct a service at 7:00 pm In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation for the library at Tabernacle U.M.C, ,83 Main St. Binghamton or the Amaranth Diabetes Foundation
