George H. McGuire, 89, of Johnson City died October 24, 2016. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Clyda in 2007, and his two daughters, Pamela McGuire and Patricia Red Elk. He is survived by two grandchildren, whom he helped raise, Holly Red Elk and her husband Dylan Pelton, and Nicholas Angeline, 4 great-grandchildren, Oliver, Samuel, Kayla and Cleone and his cat, Toothless. George worked for Ozalid and UHS. He was an avid carpenter who enjoyed building and fixing things for his family and friends. He also enjoyed sports and was a fan of the Giants, the Eagles and the Yankees. He enjoyed playing with toy trains and spending time with his great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Boulevard United Methodist Church.

 A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton. The family will received friends at the funeral home from 10:00 -11:00 am.  Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery.
