Paul E. Keene, 89, of Windsor, NY, passed away peacefully at Good Shepherd Fairview Home on November 6, 2015 surrounded by family. He was born July 21, 1926 in Susquehanna, PA. Paul was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Betty (Reagan) Keene; two of his brothers, both named Laurence, a sister, Alyce Bernhardt; and his parents,  Paul Keene and Mildred (Keene) Myers. He survived by his daughter, Shirley Keene-Gefvert, daughter in-law, Holly Keene-Gefvert, grandson, Connor Keene-Gefvert, and many dear nieces and nephews. Paul served as a Corporal and a Squad Leader in the Army during WWII as a member of 19th Infantry Regiment, 24th Division. His troop took part in the Luzon Pacific Campaign. After the war, he belonged to the American Legion.

 Paul was a long time member and Past Master of the  Windsor Masonic Lodge #442, Past Patron Windsor Chapter 190 OES and past DGL for the Broome-Chenango District. He was an active member of the Windsor Presbyterian Church. He was widely known for both his culinary and gardening skills. Paul also took time for bird watching and long walks. Mostly he enjoyed being around people and sharing life stories. He would always go the extra mile to bring a smile to someone. He was well loved by his family and friends, and will be missed.

 Masonic funeral services will be 10:00am Saturday, immediately followed by religious services, at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:00 - 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Windsor. NY. Please share online condolences at www.HEFUNERALHOME.com
