Rafael Selemi, 76, of Binghamton died August 6, 2015 at his home. He is survived by his loving family, including his children Iris Selemi, Yakara Selemi, William Selemi, Miriam Rosario, Lely Rosario, Luis J. Rosario and Luis A. Rosario, many grandchildren, including Jadyra Sosa, Javier Sosa, Richard Reynoso, Anais Murillo, Christopher Rosario and Luis Rosario, and siblings Juana Pichardo, Angela Selemi, Clara Selemi and Jose Selemi.
 
Rafael was born in the Dominican Republic February 29, 1939 and moved to New York City in the early 1980's. He was a hardworking man, driving taxi cab for many years. After retirement he moved to Binghamton, New York.
His true love in life was his family. He will be remembered as a deeply loving and devoted son, brother, father, grandfather and friend. He had a passion for life and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing.
 
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday August 10, 2015 at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton. The viewing will be Monday from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Spring Forest Cemetery, Binghamton.
