Judith L Williams, 80, of Chenango Bridge, passed away Monday April 8th, 2024 surrounded by her family after a very private seven-month battle with cancer. She is predeceased by her husband, Francis “Skip” Williams; parents, Joseph W. and Helen Gorgrant and her brother Joseph G. Gorgrant; in-laws Andrew and Waive Williams. She is survived by her children, Kelly (Rob) Hartford, Peter Williams, Christy Allen, Melinda Williams; grandchildren Christopher, Michael, Andrew (Madison), Hailey, Benjamin (Caitlin), Joseph (Ellyn); great-grandchildren Hunter, Sadie and Cooper; sister-in-law Mary Jane Williams Obremski; niece Jennifer Tappan; her good friend, Rose Lynch, David Allen and her wonderful neighborhood friends whom she has know and appreciated for over 50 years, and the many friends that she kept in touch with from her graduating class. She valued all of her relationships and enjoyed all the of late night phone conversations they had together.
Judith graduated from Binghamton North High Class of June 1961 and had the pleasure of planning and organizing their class reunions for decades. After high school she worked for many years in the banking industry where she met her husband “Skip”. Following her career in banking she went on to work at the Broome County Public Library, from where she retired. She was a member of the Ancient Order of the Hibernians and the Moose Lodge, as well as a member of the former St. Christopher’s Church, presently St. Francis of Assisi. She also she loved gardening, cooking and watching cooking shows.
A memorial service will be held 1:00pm Saturday April 13th at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00am - 12:50pm in lieu of flowers please make a donation to Broome County Humane Society or St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
