Johnson City: Margaret L. Shuba, 88, passed away April 8, 2024. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 65 years, Joseph Shuba; their children Paul (Ramona) Shuba and Mark (Kelly) Shuba; 6 grandchildren she simply adored, Ryan (Leslie) Shuba, Stephanie (Matt) Fahs, Justin Shuba, Chelsea (Robert) Barlow, Tanya Shuba and Tyler (Fiancee Bridgette) Shuba; great-granddaughter Madison Olivia Barlow; brother-in-law Edmund Shuba; numerous nieces and nephews.
Margaret, affectionately known as Meem to many, was the second youngest and last surviving of 13 children born to Casper and Mary Jane Huber in Scranton, PA. After marriage she moved to Johnson City with her husband and worked for many years as a monitor at Lincoln Elementary School. Meem was one of the best cooks going (and she would let you know it) . A family favorite was her strawberry rhubarb pie. Meem was lovingly cared for the past 3 years by her husband Joe.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11:00 am Tuesday April 16 at St. James Church, 147 Main St. Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00-10:50 am.
