Frank Bongiorno Obituary

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our patriarch.  Frank (Francesco), Michael Bongiorno, 68, joined his family in the afterlife on the morning of 6/28/2018.  He is predeceased by his loving parents, Peter (Pietro) and Rosi (Bongiorno), his only sister and her husband, Laura & Mike Delaney.  He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Joan Bongiorno; his children, Christian (Viola) and Misty Bongiorno, his grandchildren, Adrian & Maya Bongiorno.  Surviving also are his sister's family: Michael (Dianna), Amanda & Jena Delaney, Kenneth Delaney, Danny Delaney, Gina (Jason), Angela and Grant Rader, as well as children and grandchildren through marriage, Matthew (Florence) & Aly, Jon (Lauren) Tilton, Sara Tilton (Bart) & Aliya Alberti.  Also surviving are several first cousins, and countless nieces and nephews in Italy.  He will be cherished by all.
Frank was born in Alcamo, Sicily on February 16th, 1950.  He is the child of Sicilian immigrants who, fleeing the remnants of WWII, fancied the American dream and came to the United States when he was just 2 years old.  He grew up on Robble Avenue in Endicott, NY and took great pride in his Italian heritage.
At 18, Frank served his country as a Marine in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged at the tender age of 22.  Upon returning to the United States, he married and had children.  Frank was a witty, intelligent, humorous, hardworking and above all a loyal man who would do anything for his family.
Frank graduated from Binghamton University and dedicated most of his life and love to the care of his parents.  In his younger years, Frank worked as the finance manager at various Ford dealerships around the country.  Having started as a salesman and with no experience whatsoever, he repeatedly dominated sales. In addition, prior to retirement, he worked at Modern Marketing Concepts for over a decade, leading the team as the regions top sales executive. Frank was a legendary salesman that, as he put it: "could sell ice to an eskimo". His sales records are still unbroken
Our hero, our daddy, our grandfather, our uncle, our cousin. He fought as hard as any Marine ever could even until death.
Often the test of courage, is not to die...but to LIVE...
