George Stephen Turock, 86, passed into his Heavenly Father's arms on Christmas Eve 2021.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Jane (Sosenko) Turock; daughter Michelle Turock; granddaughter Ariella Drumm, and her father Kenneth Drumm; brother Gerald (Diane) Turock. George was a very hard worker, delivering newspaper in Binghamton's First Ward at a very young age, and working as a caddy at the Ely Park Golf Course.
He graduated from Broome Tech with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1977, and very proudly retired from NYSEG in 1993 with 35 years of service, working as a Draftsman and in the Electrical Engineering Department. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army as a Reserve Commissioned Officer, Second Lieutenant (National Guard). Known as a big fisherman by his family, George enjoyed hunting fishing and golfing, yearly vacations with family to Wildwood, NJ and excursions by bus to Atlantic City. He especially loved dancing with his wife at church picnics. Thanks to his daughter's care, he was able to remain at his own home until his final day. George was deeply devoted to his family and was a very good provider. He will be dearly missed.
At George's request, the family will hold a private service.
