Kathryn Foltyn, 103, formerly of Chenango Bridge, NY, passed away August 16, 2021 in Durham, NC. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Foltyn, of Durham, NC, her brother, Charles Punako of Binghamton, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Robert, her parents Samuel and Anna (Czuplak) Punako and her siblings Frank Petrysek, Mary Pasquale, Anna Mehalko, Rose Punako, Stephen Punako, Samuel Punako, Helen Strauss and John Punako and her brother-in-law Peter Foltyn.
A native of Jassa Hill, PA, Kathryn moved to Binghamton where she worked for Ansco and was a member of Holy Spirit Byzantine Catholic Church and it's choir. After her marriage to Robert she became a homemaker. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends at her home, and was an excellent cook and baker, especially noted for her traditional Czech and Ukrainian specialties. She and her husband loved to dance the Polka and were members of the Bill Flynn Polka Fan Club, the Czechoslovak Moravan Club of Endicott and Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church in Binghamton.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 am Tuesday at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, 148 Clinton St. Binghamton. NY. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. Please sign the online guestbook.
