Ronald C. Gage, 74, of Port Crane died March 3, 2018. He was predeceased by his wife Diane Gage in 2009, an infant grandson Joshua Gage in 1985, his parents Curt Gage in 2009 and Madeline Gage in 2018. He is survived by his children; daughter, RuthAnn Heath (Thomas Rushmer) of Freeville, NY and his son Ronald Mike Gage (Joanna Schlee) of Castle Creek, 4 grandchildren Eric and Sarah Heath, Jason and Samantha Gage, 7 grandchildren Cadence, Camden, Graysen, Elianna, Roman, Stella and Shea, his sisters and brothers, Donna (William) Belcher of Chenango Forks and FL, Stanley (Catherine) Gage of Port Crane, Harry (Dolores) Gage of Chenango Forks, Edward (Sue) Gage of Chenango Forks and Jan Gage (David) Thayer of New Jersey. Along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ron grew up in Port Crane and following in his father’s footsteps became an autobody repairman. He founded Gage’s Body Shop on Route 12 in Green which he operated for over 20 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially Sunday morning breakfasts with his siblings and teaching his children the value of hard work.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 pm Saturday March 10, 2018 at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00-3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family request you consider a donation to either the ASPCA or a charity of your choice, in memory of Ron.
