I will always remember my swim team of Adam, nick, doc, andy and nick!! They will always hold a special place in my heart. Adam was friends with everyone and such a joy to teach. Even though he was a cowboys fan I loved having him in class! Adam you will be missed!

I met Adam last year when we were both starting new jobs at Gunston Middle School. I liked him immediately! He was full of enthusiasm about his new job and new students. Our paths didn't cross that often at school, but when I did see him, he always had a smile on his face and friendly words to share. We miss him very much here. I wish that there were words to lessen the burden of your grief. You are in my thoughts during this terrible time.

I am deeply sorry for the loss of Adam. May you find comfort and strength from God during this sad time. Revelation 21:4 gives us this hope: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

In such a short time, Adam became my 6th graders absolute favorite teacher! Having him first period every day gave Garrett something to look forward to each morning. He adored Mr. Nesbitt and all he taught in the 4-5 weeks he had the privilege to know him. He will be deeply missed- we continue to keep his family in our thoughts and prayers.

I'm so sorry to all of you for your loss. I used to stay after school and help Mr Nesbitt out with cleaning up around the room, using his computers for research, and helping to catch quite a few mice that lived in the room. Even though I didn't have him as a teacher, a lot of my friends did, and we greatly respected him not only as a teacher, but as someone to look up to. He will be greatly missed.

Mr. Nesbitt (aka John's teacher) was my son's 8th grade Tech Ed teacher. My son is on the high functioning end of the autism spectrum and has developed social anxiety due to his mediocre social skills. I tell you this because I want you to know that Adam was amazing with my guy. I have a whole string of e-mails where he and I signed off as "aka John's mom" and "aka John's teacher." What a great sense of humor!

We are so sorry for your loss. It is a great one and felt by many.

I am aware of the sorrow and voids that continue to impact your life and challenge you faith. That faith, challenged as it may be, continues to be the strength that you continue to draw on that allows you to go forward. Every so often, I have the delightful opportunity to meet someone who makes me happy; someone who is kind, thoughtful, and genuinely honest. Adam is that person. Adam has the brightest smile and the goofiest laugh that always fills everyone in the room with joy. I send my love to his family and friends- so let us not say in grief that "he is no more", but celebrate the beauty of his soul that is.

Adam was a shining light in our Gunston MS universe. We worked far apart in the building, he in Tech Ed and I at the end of a hall teaching algebra. But our students overlapped, and I got to see the amazing student creations that came out of his classroom. I heard the excited comments about Robotics Club. Adam and I shared a common planning period and bonded over frustrations with a too-often not working copy machine. But no matter what the situation, Adam had that radiant smile. I will miss him.

This bright, talented and fantastic young man will be missed beyond words. He chose to live his life in a way I truly admire and the work he did with children will live on. He built a program at his school, helped students find their callings and supported the staff like a veteran teacher. Someone said to me yesterday 'it seemed like he was with us forever' when we spoke of his role in the county.

While I don't know what the future brings, I can promise that we will keep his legacy strong. We will keep the program that he built and we will continue to share his vision of teaching students. Thank you for sharing him with us. We are all better people for knowing him. May you find peace in this difficult time. If I can be of any service on this end, do not hesitate to call upon me.

18 years ago, I sat at table 2 in Mrs. Gale's first grade class. Next to me, sat a tall, intelligent, funny, genuinely kind-hearted boy with messy handwriting. His goofy, but kind nature is what led us to become friends. Growing up, we had many different classes together, but we rarely hung out together outside of school. The thing about Adam was that you didn't need to be best friends with him to feel his warmth. He had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and included. He touched so many lives and will be greatly missed. In his short time here, he has acquired 80 years worth of friends and people who love him. In that aspect, he has outlived the oldest people; he was able to condense a full lifetime of kindness and love into 24 years. It takes a very special type of person to be able to do that. It was a pleasure to grow up with him and to call him a friend. I am so very sorry for your loss.

I'm so terribly sorry for your loss. I teach Art at Gunston Middle School, and met Adam just last year. In that short time, He endeared himself to our school community of students and staff. He like myself loved to build and tinker, and that came across to his students and fellow teachers. He touched many lives at Gunston with his kind and calm demeanor. I can assure you he will be missed by many in our community, because he was a rising star in so many ways. I will treasure his enthusiasm for building, his gregarious laugh, and overall goodness always. My deepest sympathies to all of you in this time of sorrow. - Peter Fitzgerald

Dear Adam Nesbitt (Mr. Nesbitt). I was once your student in 6th grade, not sure if you remember me but i was the crafty type. We had a lot in common and i really loved your personality and your way of teaching. I signed up for your class but its not going to be the same. Mr Nesbitt you are a great person with an amazing and creative imagination ,and that imagination is still in the hearts of all of your students that loved you and your personality. We will all miss you and miss your presence. I would also like to give my condolences to the Nesbitt family, we all pray that your son is welcome with open arms in at the gates of heaven. We will all remember him forever, and his memory will be kept in depths of our hearts.
Sincerely
Alfredo ,7th grade

Adam you were a wonderful person and I am sorry I did not get to spend much time with you over the years but I will always remember our high school classes together and lunch together! I am happy that my sister was able to become one of your good friends and that the two of you got to spend time together before you both moved! You will truly be missed but never forgotten!

My heart hurts so bad for you and your family and I am so sorry for your loss. I will always remember Adam as that little boy that Stepfanie played with in Johnson City (her friend). We spent quite a bit of time together and he was a joy to be around. I remember him always being happy, playing and having fun. You two were inseparable (two peas in a pod). He will always live in all our hearts as he has had a positive impact on so many, including us.

Words are hard to grasp at a time like this. No one can explain why events happen, but they do. As you grieve please know that there are many around you who will be there for you. The road will be forever long as we all search for answers, this road is sometimes lonely and sad and sometimes full of the many memories that we hold close to our hearts. A melody composed of the dawns light dancing on the morning dew fields of flowers shadowed by the still moonlit morning describes how precious a birth is to all of us.

To the Nesbitt Family, my thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

It is hard to put into words our sorrow. Adam will be remembered most when hiking to the highest peaks, sharing a drink with friends or hearing a DMB tune that reminds us of the person he was. Although his time as a teacher was short, I'm sure you will hear stories of how Adam has made a positive impact on his students. We will all dearly miss his positive attitude and his trademark laughter. Gone too soon but never forgotten.
