Arlene Minnie Weeks, 86 of Kirkwood died peacefully at her home November 2, 2017. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed caring for her family and home. She made delicious fudge and her apple pies were legendary. She was a longtime member of the Immanuel Presbyterian Church where she was a Deacon. She was also a member of the Good Shepherd Fairview Home Auxiliary. Arlene particularly enjoyed the many summers spent at the family cottage on Lake Steere in Oxford. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, David L. Weeks, her beloved children, David Weeks, Jr. of Binghamton, Michael (Darlene) Weeks of Greene, Jonathan (Susan) Weeks of Castle Creek, Joel (Kristine) Weeks of Glen Aubrey and Kathy Horton of Binghamton, daughter-in-law Dawn Weeks of Mohawk, NY, her grandchildren Jennifer, Lisa Mae, AMy, David R., Dylan, Sierra, Genevieve, Michael, Steven, Sarah, Jeffrey II, Carrie, Samual, Jonathan, Jennifer, Jessica, Tana, Ashley, David, Kyle, Colin and Megan,great-grandchildren Jasmine, Charlotte, Isabella, Mia, Jakob, Maddyson, Raylee, Lilyanna, Finnegan, Lincoln, Delilah, Emily and Devlin, her sister Alice (Arnold) Finch of Florida, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. She was predeceased by one son Jeffrey Weeks and a great-granddaughter Rina.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday at the Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 549 Chenango St. Binghamton. Rev. Janet Abel will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Oxford. The family will receive friends at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home Monday from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, consider a memorial gift to her church. Please sign the online guestbook.
