Asa St. John Hall, 81, died Wednesday, December 21, 2016 in Binghamton, NY. Asa St. John Hall, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Cedric Hall of Manchester, JA was born on March 24, 1935. His parents moved to Kingston and were ardent members of the Church of God of Prophecy located on Maxfield Ave. After elementary school, he became a brilliant scholar at the Jamaica Technology school in Kingston. After which he held several jobs as an accountant. His job at the Jamaica Gleaner company was most outstanding. It was understood that Asa Hall was one of the most handsome bachelors in Jamaica. He met Pearl as a student nurse at the University Hospital. He later accepted the Lord and they were joined in marriage in 1962. Asa was an outstanding husband and later father. Being blessed with one daughter Tracey and 3 grandchildren: Katherine, Michael Jr. and Ashanti. His involvement within the island of Jamaica and in the United States has often been described as encouraging to many of the young people - leading by example. He has married countless couples, was director for the youth for 20+ years in the island of Jamaica and delivered the word of God in numerous churches, without having to be asked. It has been verbalized by many the impact his dedication for the Lord has had on their lives, stating it was Asa who helped lead them to salvation. He spent his later life in the United States pastoring 2 different church locations: Englewood, NJ and Binghamton, NY. He had verbalized his intention to retire by his next birthday, but the Lord saw it fit to take him home on to glory before then.   His viewing will be from 9:00 am - 10:00 am Saturday January7, 2017 at the Salvation Temple Church, 80 Main St. Binghamton. His homegoing ceremony  to celebrate the life of this fine soldier for the Lord will follow from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.
