Dear Judy and the girls:

I wanted to take a minute and tell you how much I thought of Rich.  I was the Batesville Casket and York Casket sales representative from 1988-2006.

I baked cookies and brought doughnuts because the fellas at Parons were so nice and down to earth.

Richard and I shared an April birthday, so we always celebrated that, but it was always our faith that came up and our girls... mine are 40 and 45 now.

We will miss Rich, but we know your fella was alwas focused on his love for you Judy and his beautiful girls.

Many hugs and prayers and may God bless you all.

Love Cindy Kelleher

To the Dunlop Family, Mrs. D., Nini, Marie, Rita, Judy, Jennifer & Becky,
I am so sorry for the loss of my childhood friend, Rich, who I always fondly called him, Veechie and he called me, Dolly. Rich was always in my life since the day I was born and I will truly miss him. We played together when we were small and as we grew up we always had a special friendship. I have so many funny stories of times we have shared together laughing and times when he would give me advice when I asked him. That was his serious and sensitive side, where he showed his heart. He was very caring, loved his family, his friends and had a great passion for God who he served daily. Every time I will think of Rich, I will have a smile on my face!

So sorry to hear about the passing of my friend Rich. I will always remember our early childhood days the most. We were all alter boys for many years. We also enjoyed the church bowling league at West Side Bowling center on Saturday afternoons. We paid 25 cents a game.

To my Brother Rich. (Hawk)  You had a Beautiful sendoff. Your in heaven now with Dad, Baba Gram and Micha.(MEECH) Kurt slowed the cars down by the BROOME MONUMENT and also on Prospect St. I waved to Lollipop and the Kitties and told them you were going home. I ALWAYS admired your STRENGHT and the strong person that you were. I remember when Judys Mom passed and I had to work and asked if you if I could pay my last respects to her before the calling hours. You stood by me the whole time and we talked. My Strong Brother. Tom and I will miss you so much. You and I had so many crazy great memories. I remember when you asked me to drive you to the UKIE DAYS on Airport Rd. We were at a red light on Lower Stella Rd. We were in your blue Buick Century. You go "Peel Rubber". Never peeled rubber , but I did....Oh Brother..The Memories I have of you are never ending. "WISH I COULD SEE THE ANGELS FACES WHEN THEY HEAR YOU SING"

Dear Judy and Family, I am so sad to hear of Rich's passing.  I know you have many wonderful memories of him, as many of us do.  He was a gentle soul and a servant of others through his work in the church and the Binghamton Sertoma Club.  He will be missed - you are in my thoughts.

I have known Rich since Boy Scouts and later on we went to college together. We were the last graduating  class of Broome "Tech" MT 71.

Rich is just one of those truly "Nice Guys". He will be missed. Even though we were not members of Holly Spirit we had close ties to the church and its activities like the many bowling trips. As a result Rich was close to my parents (Nick and Rita) and when Mom was slowing down, Rich would go out of his way to visit her in the Nursing Home. She would talk about "Hawk" for days after. And the fact that one of his daughters was taking care of her as well the other daughter was caring for her beloved Otis, just pleased her to no end. It was a true light in her dimming years..

In tribute (even though he does not need it):
I have asked one of my other Deacon friends (from this area and now in New Orleans) to say a prayer for Rich and give him a shout out at mass, thanking him for his service to our Lord and all of us who will be a little less w/o him...

Here is a three finger Boy Scout salute to Hawk...

To Richie's family,
I was a paperboy on Colfax Avenue, where the Dunlops lived, and also a parishioner at Holy Spirit. Richie was always a good kid and grew up to be a productive and active citizen.  He lived a few doors down from my mother in her later years and looked out after her. I am sorry he left us so young. Good people like Richie are so missed.

Dear Judy and daughters...we are so very sorry that Ritchie has passed because we know how much you loved him. His eyes can now see and his body is whole and he is in the presence of his savior Jesus. You will be together forever one day. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I'm sorry that we could not come to church as I had spinal fusion surgery recently but our hearts are with you this difficult day.

I spent many jovial outings with Rich as a member of Boy Scout Troop 38 along with my father, Steve, who was the scoutmaster.
These trips included the campouts at Holy Spirit church grounds, Camp Tuscarora, and the annual canoe trips on the Chenango river.
Rich certainly had a knack to keep everyone laughing and we always shared a laugh about those times when we’d run into each other in years past.
My heartfelt condolences to the family.

Pam and I would like to extend our sincerest condolences to Judy and the entire Dunlop family.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this most difficult time.  Not only was Deacon Richard my altar boy, cantor, and choir director mentor, he was a very special friend as well.  The Choirs of Angels up in Heaven are getting an outstanding choir director to lead them in singing hymns before the Throne of God.  May Deacon Richard have Blessed Repose and Eternal memory.

To Rich's Family,
Our hearts are sad since hearing of Rich's passing. Jean remembers when he was born, of course, but we both remember when he carried the white ring pillow at our wedding. He remained such a good a person all his life and was devoted to everything that he did; school, the choir, his work, and his devotion to his religion and his family. There is a special place in heaven for Rich.
Our love and prayers are with all of you at this time even if we can't be there.
Love, Eddie and Jean

I will always remember how Rich took my son under his wing for choir and also during catechism. Tom fell in love with music--especially choir music--and as a young boy emulated his idol (Rich) by using a pitch pipe or conducting using choir music tapes. Rich was so gentle and caring to Tom during these early, formative years and will always be remembered. My prayers and sympathy to Judy, Jennifer, and Becky and to the entire family. He will be missed and never forgotten.

I remember Rich so well.  We were altar boys and cantors together at Holy Spirit Church.  Perhaps one of the kindest guys I knew.  The loss of one person like Rich is a loss to all people.  God bless his family.  Rich, rest and give life to those you meet on the other side.  You are missed.
