Dear Pat, Phil, and Tom,
So very sorry to hear about Don's passing. I'll always remember my cousin as a "big teddy bear" of a guy and a kind-hearted, gentle soul. He will be missed. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers in the days ahead.

Pat - we grieve with you at the loss of Don, one of the true "Essential Workers" at the college. We always thought of him as an honorary member of the HPSS Department and his loss leaves a void that cannot be filled. He was so generous and caring towards all those he touched and he always had a smile. My only regret is that Fred, Lorenz and I did not bring him some fresh pizza that Friday afternoon! Don will be missed.

Don was a wonderful, giving colleague and I will never forget all the kind advice and help he gave me at different times. I will miss seeing his friendly, gentle smile and the whole campus won't be the same. I send my deepest sympathies to his family.

Pat, my heart goes out to you and your family. Don was a thoughtful, caring man and I will long remember him coming in the Liberal Arts Office always with a happy expression on his face and spreading his happiness throughout the office. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time. He will long be remembered by so many of his colleagues and friends.

I had many interesting and lively conversations with Don when he worked in the Writing Center and I taught developmental classes at Broome. He was also an invaluable source of information concerning grammar when I taught ESL classes too. A very kind and caring man. He will be missed .

Dear Pat, Don was one of the kindest people I knew as an ESL Adjunct at BCC for many years. I saw his joy blossom when you two were just getting together. I hope you find peace and joy in your memories. For me, BCC has gotten a little colder again.

RIP, Don. Sad to see another one of our great neighbors from Pamela Drive pass on. I remember well how you taught me to play chess and the concert we went to at the Arena in the early 70's. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family and friends. May God comfort them at this most difficult time.

I'm sorry for your loss, Pat. Don was such a generous guy, always helping to support our work at the college--including the annual reading for the magazine--and delighted to share his thoughts about literature or the most interesting things he had been reading. I'll miss those conversations.

Don was a kind man and a gentle soul with a wicked sense of humor. I actually remember him giggling over any number of things - for example, "I am pink, therefore I am Spam." I remember moments of silence when a new pizza was brought into the world. What I remember most is his courtship of Pat. I was honored to witness that, and to be in their wedding. I still remember that day. Just picture Don, in the middle of the kitchen downstairs, on a stool, wearing a tux and a baseball cap, which he did remove for the ceremony. It was also fun to watch him become a cat lover. My heart goes out to Pat, Tom and Phil and their family and friends. Don will be missed, but I know my life is much richer for having had him in it. There is now a new angel in heaven.

Phil, Tom and families

I have many fond memories of Don as neighbor, classmate, team mate and friend. Even though he would wield that "flipper" forearm in football his gentleness, kindness and politeness is what stood out in school and our neighborhood. A very intelligent and kind friend. True friendships last a lifetime. He will be missed. My best to you all and rest in peace my friend.

Patricia, and to Donnie's brothers, blessings, love, and peace unto you and Don. A great and beloved nephew of mine, he will be missed by me and of course, by so many others who knew and loved him. Am at loss for further words. Please stay strong as Donnie would have wanted us to. Heartfelt sympathy; keep his memories near, and dear. Uncle Ned (N.C.Dunham Jr.) and family.
