Genevieve Dawn Whittington, 91, a resident of Port Crane was called home to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born in Binghamton, NY, daughter of John and Maude (Morgan) Smith. She worked for many years as the church secretary at Calvary Baptist Church on Chenango Street. She lived a life of service to The Lord. She enjoyed crafting and was a passionate reader. In retirement she moved to Florida where she lived for many years before returning to the area to live with her son Mark in 2010.  By herself she raised four sons who survive, Keith Whittington, Mark (Joan) Whittington, Eric (Janet) Whittington and Glenn (Sherri) Whittington; 7 grandchildren, Ashley, Kelsey, Kyle, Adam, Eileen, Brent and Morgan; one sister, Audrey Yaple and two nephews.
 
A memorial service will be held 6:00 pm Monday January 16 at the Calvary Baptist Church, 466 Chenango St. Binghamton. Pastor Bill Deckert will officiate. The family will greet friends at the church Monday from 5:00 - 6:00 pm.
