Hello, I was Mary Janes pen friend during the war. We started writing to each other in either 1941 or 1942. American children sent letters to the school I was at (in Hertfordshire) and I was given her address. To begin with her mother thought Mary Jane was too young to write to me, she was about 7 and I was about 12. But we did write and exchanged letters for about 3 years. I also met Mary Janes cousin (Walter?) who was a naval officer based here (with his friend Jim), for while in the early 50's. I do have some photos somewhere, I will try to find them.
I am now 88 and still in good health. My daughter-in-law (Patricia) found the sad news that Mary Jane had died today when we were looking at the internet and I asked if it would be possible to find Mary Jane Bailey. If you wish, you can contact me via Patricia at pclampett@blueyonder.co.uk

Mary and my father were a great couple ,they traveled an laughed alot. mary was a bright spot In our lives, funny as hell, we had great times at dinner,she made everyone laugh. miss that laugh.
