Kurt W. Cashman, 56, of Binghamton, passed away peacefully March 18, 2017 with his family by his side, after a short illness. Kurt was predeceased by his parents Bert and Joyce Cashman and mother-in-law Dot Knowles. He is survived by his wife of 31 years Kathi Cashman (Knowles), their three children: Valerie (Stacy) Falzarano; Brittanie Cashman and Brian Cashman; one amazing grandson Cole,who was the light of his life; a special four legged family member Sophie; his brother Keith Cashman; sister Colleen (Nicole) Cashman; brother-in-law Robert (Betty) Knowles; brother-in-law Richard (Diana) Knowles; sister-in-law Patricia Knowles; brother-in-law Ronald Knowles; sister-in-law Julie Knowles; sister-in-law Sharon (Ron) Houghtalen, several special aunts and uncles, many cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends. Kurt was going into his 30th year of employment with the Broome County Highway Department where he made many lifelong friends. He was an avid outdoorsman, family man, and would always go out of his way to help anyone he could. His favorite morning ritual was his trips to Planet Fitness where he met many amazing people. The family wishes to thank the staff at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA and Lourdes Hospice for their care and special thanks to Mary Lou and Margaret (Peggy). The family will receive friends from 1:00-4:00 pm Saturday at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers consider a donation to Lourdes Hospice.
